Turns out that most people join purely to support the charities and not for the prize draws (every two months at the moment), so we haven't kept on top of that, our apologies. Same reason we paused the blog; once they've downloded the app, users only need to pop back if they're having a tech issue or in the prize draw.
Plan is to change the format, complete rebrand and redesign. Then we can attend to content once again.
Thank you for the informatin. My apologies if my inquiry provided the impression I'm in it for the money - I'm not. I have little doubt I'll spend much more on electricity and hardware long before I'll ever see any financial return - it's a fun project, I get to learn about something new, and I get to assist in a field in which I'm utterly unqualified (science).
Instead, my query is a base curiosity because I noticed the site seems to be a couple years out of date in that regard. That lapse could possibly lead some potential volunteers to believe the project is waning and slowing in support, and therefore they may not bother to volunteer and get involved.
I agree the site could use some redesign; it feels a little prototypical; this is not a criticism, but merely an observation.
