BOINC Manager displaced CE Manager after client update. HOw do I get CE back?

A update to the BOINC client (to version 7.16.11 [x64]) displaced CE's desktop manager - now BOINC manager loads at startup. How do I get CE's desktop manager (and the start menu shortcuts) back? (CE still appears on the list as one of the four tasks I was running in the BOINC Projects tab, but the workunits show zero.)

You can uninstall the BOINC software and then reinstall Charity Engine. We don't have version 7.16 software at this point, but you can download version 7.14.2 instead. In either case, the tasks and workunits should continue to run normally after software is updated or changed. 

If you decide to install the Charity Engine 7.14.2 software, I'd be curious of two things:

  1. Did your previous Charity Engine software lead you to install BOINC 7.16?
  2. Does the same problem occur with Charity Engine 7.14.2?
