Are there currently any regular GPU tasks or is this still in development stage ? I saw the anouncement, downloaded the update but see no GPU work units

What is your GPU model?

I can tell there are GPU WUs for AMD being sent constantly.

As for Nvidia there are for some specific card models.

if you have an Intel GPU, there is no work for you.

Low-end card, and getting old.

No offense meant there. I know they have work for gtx 560/650 and above.

However, for low-end card, I saw on the forum they might be working on something to use them.

Let's wait for someone of the team to give you an official answer.

oh I know it's old, I never stay on top with graphics but other projects use it and it's still 10x faster than the cpu's. I've got a quadro 4000 in my cad station at work but that is dry too and it's a fast card (10x mine)

Maybe you could allow beta WUs to be sent to your computers. If you are lucky they are working on beta wus for your video card.

Go to your account on the website ----> Settings----->Beta testing.

or easier: http://www.charityengine.com/account/settings

I am actually facing the same issue. I recently came back to Charity Engine because of GPU support, but I do not get any WU.

My Graphics card is NVIDIA NVS 5400M. Like Simon mentioned it being used by other BOINC projects, but not for CharityEngine. I am also singed up for the beta. Do you know if there are a list of all NVIDIA graphics card that are currently accepted?

A link to that page would be greatly apreciated.

Personally i will not be buying another nVidia card, i am very dissapointed as the driver crashes continually particularly if updated. I also have this problem at work on my Quadro 4000 which is supposed to be a high end card. ATi for me next time, i'm done with nVidia

I have cards from both company and AMD completely destroys Nvidia on both drivers and price/performance ratio. I always get some glitches on my computer that has an nvidia card, the screen suddenly becomes black for a few seconds, etc. Whereas I don't have such issues with AMD. AMD cards are also *usually* cheaper for the same performance output.

CUDA is getting destroyed by OpenCL as it is pretty much universal. Even Intel CPU can use OpenCL! PhysX is not really worth it in my opinion, as it can run on CPU to have the same effect, assuming you have a decent CPU.

The only thing I have to concede to Nvidia is their lower heat/noise generation. I think they are also less power hungry, but I don't have numbers around to back this claim.

I think the only cards supported for Nvidia are gtx 550, 560 and 650 or those around  this range of card.

yes I've had enough with nVidia, I'll be going full AMD on the next PC. Although on my work PC even for CE on CPU I'm having to turn it off as it's making my PC sluggish, CE obviously has a lot of work to do, my home PC does not seem to have a problem though which is weird.

Right, right and right.

Additional to that, Nvidia are the cards of choice for Linux machines. You can't really enjoy Wine gaming with AMD cards f.e..
