Just a guess, but probably quite awhile. It's a security risk if I understand it correctly, so until they can find a way to fix that they would rather be overly catious then overly stats heavy. hope this helps.
We will be offering GPU support soon; people are requesting it. It's not a security risk (BOINC's been safely installed on millions of PCs, GPUs crunching happily as we speak), it just lets us add another layer of security if GPUs aren't enabled. Belt and braces.
Still, that's obviously a decision the users want to make for themselves. Which is fair enough, so we'll be upgrading the CE app to BOINC v7 asap.
VM looks to be a promising option for the future as well. As does Android...
